MycoTOX Mold Exposure Lab Test
Mold exposure can lead to long-term health issues like heart disease, autoimmunity, asthma, depression/anxiety and more. Mold can also relevant in undiagnosed “mystery” cases.
Mold releases toxic byproducts called mycotoxins (“myco“= mold/fungus, “toxins”= toxic) into the air and is breathed in. These mycotoxins are eliminated through the urine and can be tested for.
These mycotoxins are also released if you have a mold/fungal infection. Most infections occur in the lungs, GI tract, or in the blood.
Mycotoxin exposure is also linked to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).
The MycoTox test for 11 different mycotoxins from 40 species of mold. It uses Mass Spectrometry which can detect very low levels of mycotoxins. This makes it useful when doing followup testing to ensure successful treatment.
