Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Is fasting required for the test?
Fasting is not required, but avoiding supplements a week before the test is suggested by the lab. Please consult your primary doctor. - Who should take this test?
It’s ideal for individuals who may have chronic conditions, or dietary restrictions, or those who may be experiencing symptoms like fatigue, weakened immunity, or digestive issues. - Should you stop your medications and supplementation before taking the test?
We do not advise discontinuing any necessary medications or supplements. We recommend you consult your primary doctor before changing your medication or supplement intake. However, some primary doctors may recommend discontinuing dietary supplements 7-14 days before testing to assess the “baseline” (normal) micronutrient levels. Some may prefer to test the micronutrient levels while you are taking dietary supplements to assess how well the dietary supplement is absorbed. Please consult with your doctor whether they recommend that you fast for 8 hours (no food or beverage except water) or continue or discontinue any dietary supplements or medications before your test.
