MycoTOX Mold Exposure Lab Test by Great Plains (now MosaicDx) | Canada
Mold exposure can lead to long-term health issues like heart disease, autoimmunity, asthma, depression/anxiety, and more. Mold can also be relevant in undiagnosed “mystery” cases. Mold releases toxic byproducts called mycotoxins (“myco“= mold/fungus, “toxins”= toxic) into the air and is breathed in. These mycotoxins are eliminated through the urine and can be tested for. These mycotoxins are also released if you have a mold/fungal infection. Most infections occur in the lungs, GI tract, or blood. Mycotoxin exposure is also linked to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). The MycoTox test for 11 different mycotoxins from 40 species of mold. It uses Mass Spectrometry which can detect very low levels of mycotoxins. This makes it useful when doing follow-up testing to ensure successful treatment. What’s Being Tested:
- AFLATOXIN M1 (AFM1)
- OCHRATOXIN A (OTA)
- STERIGMATOCYSTIN (STG)
- RORIDIN E
- VERRUCARIN A
- ENNIATIN B1
- ZEARALENONE (ZEA)
- GLIOTOXIN
- MYCOPHENOLIC ACID
- DIHYDROCITRINONE
- CHAETOGLOBOSIN A
