Why do Saliva Hormone Testing?

Saliva hormone tests are an accurate and inexpensive way to test unbound “free” hormones. “Free” hormones are the “active” form of hormones vs. bound, or “inactive”, hormones that do not perform any action in the body.

Standard blood tests only test the inactive bound hormones. In saliva hormone testing, the saliva gland releases the active form of the hormone, making it a better test for assessing hormone function and optimal hormone health.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement (BHRT) vs. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Women in menopause who are taking any form of hormone replacement therapy should have their hormone levels checked regularly. Bio-identical hormones are derived mainly from soybeans and/or yams and closely resemble our own hormones.
