MRT 135 Mediator Release Test for Food Sensitivities
What is the Mediator Release Test?
Food sensitivities are traditionally tested by testing the blood for antibodies to different foods. One of the challenges of the antibody test is to get accurate test results, you must have eaten enough of food for several weeks in order to make enough antibodies for accurate testing. This is fine if you currently eat the foods being tested for and you don’t have a compromised immune system (taking steroidal anti-inflammatories, digestive issues, or have autoimmune concerns, etc.).
Also, food sensitivities are more complex than just antibodies. There are other inflammatory chemicals produced by the immune system that can trigger and promote sensitivities. This is why the MRT test is superior. The MRT uses a different, more accurate, technique to reveal type 3 and type 4 food sensitivities. The panel also includes 8 food chemicals/additives sensitivities to assure that you avoid those that impact your health.
The MRT results also contain a wallet-size card with your positive sensitivities on them so you have a fast reference while grocery shopping.
How does the MRT Test Work?
The MRT test works by measuring the size change of white blood cells when they come in contact with different foods. The more the cells are “empty”, the higher the reaction. This is helpful because you do not have to eat the foods before the test and it can still be mostly accurate for those who have immune issues.
