HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 Gene Test for Celiac Disease
More than 95% of those with celiac disease test positive for either HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8. Testing the HLA-DQ genes can be used to support the diagnosis of celiac disease, however, they can also be used as a functional marker when determining if gluten products can be added back into the diet. Here are some scenarios:
Gliadin IgG + IgA Antibodies: POSITIVETtG + Endomysial Antibodies: POSITIVEHLA-DQ 2 and/or 8: POSITIVEPERMENTIALY REMOVE GLUTEN |
Gliadin IgG + IgA Antibodies: NEGATIVETtG + Endomysial Antibodies: POSITIVEHLA-DQ 2 and/or 8: POSITIVEPERMENTIALY REMOVE GLUTEN |
Gliadin IgG + IgA Antibodies: POSITIVETtG + Endomysial Antibodies: NEGATIVEHLA-DQ 2 and/or 8: POSITIVEPERMENTIALY REMOVE GLUTEN |
Gliadin IgG + IgA Antibodies: NEGATVETtG + Endomysial Antibodies: NEGATIVEHLA-DQ 2 and/or 8: POSITIVEPARTIALLY REMOVE GLUTEN |
Gliadin IgG + IgA Antibodies: NEGATIVETtG + Endomysial Antibodies: NEGATIVEHLA-DQ 2 and/or 8: NEGATIVEALLOWED GLUTEN |
What’s Being Tested:
- HLA-DQ2 Gene (alpha and beta subunits DQA1*05/DQB1*02)
- HLA-DQ8 Gene (alpha and beta subunits DQA1*03/DQB1*0302)
