Kit must be picked up and returned to Draw Station. Urine Sample: For suspected Schistosoma haematobium, collect urine sample without preservatives at midday. Peak egg secretion occurs between noon and 3PM. Egg output is enhanced by physical exercise combined with fluid intake prior to urination. Include any pertinent clinical and travel history on the test request form.
Sputum or Stool Sample Fresh feces should not be submitted. Usual aseptic technique Three specimens are recommended (each is charged). Fecal specimens for parasitic examination should be collected before initiation of antidiarrheal therapy or antiparasitic therapy.
